Fine Poster: Sandstorm
In Julia's own words:
"As a photographer one usually shies away from exposing one’s gear to dust and weather, but those are often the times when the images turn out the best. The event is held in the middle of the Black Rock Desert National Park, a desert formed on the top of a dried-up lakebed in norther Nevada. The days are usually very hot, and the nights are cold. The heat during the day whips up a wind that blows the sand around from time to time. When the sand is airborne the whole area disappears in a wall of white, only to emerge again when the wind passes. And these are the moments I grabbed my camera––there are few things more exciting than the light of a sandstorm. Two years later I still have sand in my gear, but the images were absolutely worth it. The art-piece appearing in the image is called ”Mariposita” (meaning ”little butterfly” in Spanish) and was created by the artist Chris Carnabuchi and it represents rebirth, and the process of emerging from one’s shell. The way in which the statue and the people rise out of the sandstorm, harmonizes with the message of the art-piece in a beautiful way."
The fine poster Sandstorm by Julia Reinhart is a high-resolution print on 300gsm satin paper and comes with a white border / pseudo passepartout.
